Most preposition guides rely on memorization, but this course replaces passive learning with active, deliberate practice. It transforms 100 core rules into 600 unique questions across six rotating tests, ensuring every rule is tested in multiple formats. The result is deeper retention and real-world judgment, not just rule recitation.
Prepositions are the smallest words that cost the most marks.
Almost every learner of English can recite the rules — afraid of, addicted to, superior to — and almost every learner still writes afraid under exam pressure. Rules you have only read are rules you will break. This course is deliberate practice: 6 full-length practice tests, 100 multiple-choice questions each, 600 questions in total, built on 100 numbered preposition rules, with a written explanation on every single answer option and the governing rule stated on every question.
How Each Question Test Is Built — Four Question Formats:
Preposition in the Blank: Choose the preposition — or the pair of prepositions — that completes a natural sentence. Person or thing? Skill or purpose? Every blank tests a judgement.
Error Spotting: A sentence split into parts; select the part containing the error. Each test also includes three sentences with no error at all, so you learn to trust correct English instead of over-correcting.
Correct Sentence Selection: Four full sentences using the same key word — exactly one is right. You learn to recognise correct usage, not just produce it.
Preposition Knowledge: Direct rule-recognition questions ("The word JUNIOR is always followed by:") that lock the rule itself into memory.
A Rotation, Not Six Identical Tests:
All six tests cover the same 100 rules — but every test rotates the rules through different formats with completely fresh sentences (no sentence ever repeats across tests). Across the six tests, every rule is examined in all four question formats, twice in two of them. That is spaced repetition by design: by Test 6 you have met every rule from every angle.
Every Option Explained:
Each question shows four options, and each option carries its own written reason — why the right one is right, and why each wrong one is wrong — plus a one-line statement of the rule itself. All told: 2,400 explained answer options and 600 rule summaries. A wrong answer becomes a lesson, not a dead end.
British Spelling Throughout, Global Audience in Mind:
One consistent convention (apologised, emphasise, sympathise) so you never confuse yourself mid-test.
What's Included:
6 full-length practice tests (100 multiple-choice questions each, 4 options per question).
600 questions built on 100 numbered preposition rules — person-vs-thing pairs, transitive verbs, and phrase rules like beside vs besides, at first, on foot, in prison.
A written explanation of all 2,400 answer options, plus the governing rule on every question.
Unlimited retakes, lifetime access.
Take Test 1 to find out which of the 100 rules you actually break — then take Test 6 to prove you've stopped breaking them.
