This course takes a fundamentally different approach: rather than learning by watching someone paint, you'll understand the why behind every watercolor technique. The instructor, a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society, believes mastery starts with material science.
Watercolor painting depends on three elements: pigment, water, and surface. Most painting courses gloss over these. This one examines each with depth—how different pigments behave, how water interacts with paint and paper, and how those properties let you create specific effects intentionally rather than by accident.

This course is designed to give you an in-depth look at the properties of each material used in the watercolor painting process.
