UdemyA focused vocabulary course teaching 75 English idioms at an intermediate to upper-intermediate level, organized into fifteen units of five idioms each. Every unit presents the idioms in context on video before giving precise definitions and further examples, followed by a quiz to check retention.
English learners at an intermediate level or above who want to sound more natural and understand everyday native-speaker expressions, rather than textbook English. It's structured for self-paced study, unit by unit.
The instructor's own advice — building a personal example sentence from a lived situation — is built into how the course wants you to study, not just an afterthought.
The goal of this course is to teach you 75 English idioms which will allow you to express yourself in a more colourful way, and to understand some of the expressions that native English speakers use every day.
I have selected 75 common English Idioms which can be found at an intermediate to upper-intermediate level of English.
This course is divided into fifteen units. In each unit, we will look at five English idioms. Each unit contains a video which will present the idioms in context, before giving you a more precise definition with further examples.
Once you have watched the video, I encourage you to try the quizzes, which will test how well you remember the idioms and their definitions.
The best way to remember any language item is to use it, so I strongly recommend that you make personal examples for each idiom. Think of a situation that you have lived, and think how you could apply the idiom.
In each unit, you will also find MP3 recordings, and PDFs of the transcript and definitions and examples which you can download and use whenever you like.
Now that you know what’s waiting for you, let’s start the course!
