Jazz Guitar: Complete Foundations to Improvisation
Jazz guitar fluency means knowing every chord that exists, all the scales, arpeggios, rhythm fundamentals, and how to improvise your own voice over changes. This course builds that in seven sections totaling over 12 hours. It starts with guitar basics for complete beginners, then ascends through Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert—each level adding vocabulary and freedom.
Most lessons include downloadable PDFs with TAB and text so you can study offline and build theory alongside technique. Backing tracks give you ears on the material. Any six-string guitar works, whether electric, acoustic, or classical. The breadth means jazz guitar skills—on any instrument—are learnable.
About this course
Welcome to Jazz for the Curious Guitarist! If you're ready to play real jazz guitar, then this course is for you. You'll go from the basics of guitar playing to a high level of jazz in which you'll have knowledge of all chords that exist, basic & advanced scales, arpeggios, rhythm, and music & guitar theory. You'll also understand the jazz feel and how to improvise your own solos.
We'll start the course assuming that you're a complete beginner. The first section of the course - Guitar Basics - is all about teaching you the guitar basics to get you ready for the jazz lessons.
There are seven sections in this course: Guitar Basics, Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, & Backing Tracks which total over 12 hours of video content.
Most lesson videos in this course include PDF attachments, which are the TAB & text lessons that you can download & print. Be sure to get all the PDFs. Some lessons have multiple attachments.
Any kind of six-string guitar will work well for this course - electric guitar, acoustic guitar, or classical guitar.
