Prepare Data for Exploration

Getting Your Data Analytics Toolkit in Order

The third course in the Google Data Analytics Certificate, this one moves past theory into the practical mechanics of working with data — using spreadsheets and SQL to pull the right data, then organizing and protecting it properly.

Who it's for

Anyone following the Google Data Analytics path, or beginners who want hands-on practice with SQL and databases before tackling a full analytics role.

What you'll practice

• Using SQL and spreadsheets to extract relevant data
• Data security, access, and sharing best practices
• Metadata management and relational database basics

With over 1.1 million learners, it's clearly doing its job as a foundational stepping stone — current Google analysts teach it directly, which keeps the exercises grounded in real workplace practice.
