This course starts from an unusual premise: build a short film from a single image that inspires you, then work outward from there. It leans into conceptual, arthouse filmmaking, where the director's own personality and experience shape the piece far more than a conventional script-first process would.

Who it's for

Filmmakers who already understand the basics of production and want room to experiment, plus artists from adjacent disciplines — photography, fine art, writing — curious about translating a visual idea into moving image.

Why it's different

Most filmmaking courses teach toward a commercial or narrative standard. This one explicitly embraces creative flexibility and personal voice, making it a good fit if you're less interested in correct filmmaking and more interested in finding your own directorial style through a real short-film project.
